Phillip Staton has served as President since the launch of Clinton Engineering in 1991.  Phillip has over 30 years of engineering and management experience that include:

  • master planning for phased construction
  • grading and road project design
  • subdivision design
  • utility design
  • hydraulic studies
  • topographic survey
  • construction stakeout 
  • construction administration/inspection
  • large commercial/industrial site planning, grading and drainage design for projects such as correctional facilities, schools, shopping centers and reclamation projects

Phillip earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Kentucky. He started his career with for the Corps of Engineers in Louisville, Kentucky,  and then worked with GRW Engineers in Lexington, Kentucky.

In 1990, he moved to Cookeville, Tennessee and joined Barge, Waggoner, Sumner and Cannon (BWSC) where he worked on the design of  local Putnam County projects: Interstate Drive, Putnam County Justice Center, construction administration services on the Tennessee Technological University Fitness Center.

In 1991, Phillip started his own engineering firm with a goal of providing quality service to clients in the Upper Cumberland area.

Phillip is a registered Professional Engineer in Tennessee, Kentucky, and North Carolina and a Registered Land Surveyor in the state of Tennessee.
